This excerpt comes from Kristopher Horton’s Fourth of July on Maui as Ann and John are getting ready to go out for the evening.
Ann checked herself in the mirror once more. Her red flower print dress was fun, classy and Hawaiian all at once. It was loose enough that she wouldn’t be uncomfortable in the Maui heat, yet tight enough to keep John in the mood for romance. She knew her fragrance, Tresor, also would get his attention. She walked through the suite, stepping out onto the lanai.
The sun was on its way down; it would set while they were at the luau.
“Ann Smith, you look fabulous,” John said. He took her hand and holding it above her, spun her in a quick circle causing her dress to flare out slightly. “I don’t think anyone more beautiful has ever been to this island.”
“You’re such a sweetie. I love you, Darling.”
“Anything for my Honey.” He leaned forward and kissed her quickly. Ann instantly noticed that he smelled of Old Spice. Every time she inhaled his fragrance, she could only think of his strong arms wrapped around her.
John held her close to his chest as he rubbed one hand on her back, the other playing with the blonde hair at the back of her head. He drew her even closer, and they began dancing to the Jimmy Buffett tune. The awkwardness of dancing outside quickly melted away as they lost themselves in the moment.
Ann always loved it when his arms encircled her, drawing her close and keeping her so safe and secure. John was a pillar of strength to her, and she loved him even more for it.
John’s hand was stroking her gently now, moving slowly downward. He pressed against the swell of her backside, the friction of their embrace only exciting her further. His hand moved around to caress her breast, which caused her to exhale and snuggle into his arms. With his other hand, he pulled her bottom tightly against his hips. “I couldn’t imagine anyone who fit me better than you, Honey,” he said.
