Away on the Range

is a personalized novel set at a dude ranch on the wide-open plains. The starring couple ride and wrangle under the direction of the ranch owners' daughter and the outfit's foreman.
Under skies that seem to stretch forever, the action centers around horses, tall-tales, and the threats and pleasures of the wild, with romance coming in the most unexpected places. From outward beauty to inward understanding, the lesson learned is as old as the Wild West.
If you like horses, riding horses, the open range, and interacting with nature, as well as western dancing and taking a dip in a mountain lake, this book is for you.

John eagerly followed. By the time his head popped up past the floor of the hayloft, Ann was already seated in a pile of hay and pulling off her boots. By the time John reached her, she was pulling off her blue jeans. By the time he stood over her, she was lying back wearing only her red panties and a wide smile. He stared at the two luscious mounds of her breasts, then looked back into her welcoming blue eyes. He felt a heat throbbing within him from the need for her.
Ann ran her fingers through her blonde hair, looked up at John and said, "If I'm gonna find that needle in this haystack, you better get to losing it.
"Pronto," John replied as he tore at his clothes to release his needle.
"I've got a special place for you to hide it, Darling," she cooed. "Right over here." She ran her hands down her sides, over her stomach and down inside the thin strip of material that was her panties.
     "Oh, I know you do."
Raising her hips, she slid off the flimsy material. She was already covered in a thin film of perspiration from John's hot breath on her there. Her loins ached for him. She arched her hips toward him, suggestively.
Peeling off his pants and underwear, John gladly placed himself on top of her, eager for the fit of their two bodies. Their hearts raced in anticipation.
The hay was soft, the air was warm, the smells of the stable and the liniment and their own two bodies was intoxicating. A gentle rocking lead to steady heaving. The boards of the loft went to creaking. The motion sent dust and bits of straw down between the cracks in the flooring. The particles spun and swirled through beams of light toward the ground while John and Ann raced toward the fulfillment only love can bring. With a crashing of emotions, they shivered in ecstasy and clung to each other in the quiet afterglow.
Wrenching them from their bliss, however, was a highly unexpected and all-too-familiar voice calling, "You-hoo, anybody there?"
"Uh, yeah," John yelled down as he and Ann grabbed for their clothes, "it's us."
"John? Ann?" the female voice replied. "Are you up in the hayloft?"
They heard the ladder squeak, saw it shake from the weight of Rainbow climbing it. Frantically they pulled on their clothes. John tugging on his pants, grasping for his shirt. Ann furiously worked her buttons on her blouse then glanced down at her side to see her panties in the hay pile. She snatched them up and stuck them in her jeans' pocket just as she saw Rainbow's head appear at the opening of loft. She cast a glance at John and was happy to see he was fully dressed, too.
"I was getting some stuff for the bonfire tonight, and I thought I heard someone up here. It's you two, huh? Well, I'll be."
You'll be a colossal pain in the butt, John thought to himself, but said to Rainbow, "Yes, just us."
How could this have happened twice to us? Ann was thinking, but instead said to Rainbow, "We were just looking for a needle up here."
"I hope you found it," Rainbow said.
"I think we did," John replied. There was a gleam in his hazel eyes.
